What is Alpha Phi Omega?

Why should I join?

Yes, Alpha Phi Omega is a fraternity, but let’s not jump to conclusions just yet. There are a few things that set us apart from the rest:

Alpha Phi Omega Service Pin

We are a service fraternity. But… What does that even mean? Let’s be honest, when you think of greek life, you think social. If you don’t think social, you think academic. But Alpha Phi Omega is unique. We believe that we have a greater cause: that of service. While being silly and having fun is a must, we base our approach to our guiding principles: leadership, friendship, and service. APO provides service to the campus, service to the community, service to the fraternity, and service to the nation by donating time and effort to various organizations and causes.

It’s open to anyone. So… if this is a fraternity, why are there girls? Membership to Alpha Phi Omega is open to everyone. Since we aren’t a social fraternity, we have no exclusive tendencies. We encompass all types of individuals from scholars and professionals to socialites and dreamers. You can even be a part of other fraternities and sororities as well. The only criteria is you must have genuine desire to help out those who need it.

It is an international organization. Alpha Phi Omega is a co-educational service organization that provides its members the chance to develop leadership skills through service projects in their campus, in their community and across the nation. While other groups volunteer, making the world a better place is not their primary focus. Alpha Phi Omega is the largest service fraternity in the world, with more than 400,000 brothers in more than 375 campuses in the U.S. since 1925; and 4,000 members in over 250 chapters in the Philippines since 1950. With more and more chapters popping up each year, who knows how far APO can expand sharing the cardinal principles of leadership, friendship, and service?

We are an inclusive group, open to all nationalities, backgrounds and genders, and we welcome you to become part of our amazing organization so that together we can pursue a common goal - leading through service to others.
